Eton Plaza here we come!!!

Now that all the champagne has been properly consumed by Rebecca and I, we can finally explain the big news.  The papers have been signed, and it is official that Vegan Sweet Tooth will be opening in Eton Plaza on Chagrin Blvd in Woodmere.  Our team has been working very hard on finding the perfect location, and we are very excited and happy to be joining the Eton family.  We will be located in the center of the mall, right next to Michael Symon's "B Spot".  We are going to have a "cafe/kiosk/cupcake bar" in the middle of the mall, along with a separate kitchen area in the back.  It is a bit hard to describe, but it is going to be rather amazing.  We don't have an exact date we are going to open, due to construction, but we are hoping no later than Mother's Day, but no promises.  We will keep you fully updated on the back to the baking.

That is great news for Cleveland. We totally need more access to all things vegan! And it's sooooo weird that I just saw this news on Facebook because last night I did a blog posting on the subject of vegan desserts. Since you guys are the experts, I would LOVE your thoughts on my posting. Hope you will join in on the conversation and looking forward to introducing myself when you are open!

It was kind of hard in the beginning, since I was adnjstiug and trying to figure out what foods I could eat. I tried tons and tons of soy cheeses and other products before I discovered the products I really like. It was also hard socially because I didn't know anyone else who was vegan and I got a lot of questions / comments that I didn't know how to handle. So it does take some time to adapt in the beginning. These days, though, being vegan is so easy. I know which fake meats are vegan, which non-dairy products are my favorites, what to say when someone asks what's wrong with eating eggs I don't have cravings much anymore, unless I stare at a bag of Doritos . When I go to restaurants where salad is the only option, I'm no longer shy about asking the server if the chef can whip up something for me. Being vegan is just a routine part of my life now. Many people suspect that veganism is more expensive, but it doesn't have to be. You can splurge on speciality products like vegan mayo or vegan whipped cream, but there are tons of cheap options too. Here are some inexpensive vegan meal ideas:(scroll down for the list) Remember it doesn't have to be an all-or-nothing thing; you can keep eating your favorite foods as you make a gradual transition. Feel free to e-mail me through my profile if you have more questions. Good luck!
