Modern Day Pie
Seeing how Becca and I have virtually read every single blog, website, and magazine about Thanksgiving, it is now time to share my thoughts. To state the obvious, my thoughts tend to fall in the dessert category, clearly. I have been thinking a lot about pie, pecan pie and pumpkin pie to be exact. I love pie, but I get tired of pie as well. So Becca and I brainstormed this season, and changed the pie into a bar. We are calling it a modern day pie, if you will. We LOVE them, and from what I am hearing many of you enjoy them as well. For those of you that have not indulged yet, let me describe to you our pecan and pumpkin bars. We start with Becca's famous shortbread, that is crumbly, "buttery", and delicious. We top that with your choice of caramelized pecans or creamy roasted pumpkin. They are flying out of our case, and I just realized that they would be perfect for the Thanksgiving table. So instead of doing the same dessert that you do every year, why not try a modern day version, and get some pecan or pumpkin bars!
