Now that the leaves are starting to change color, and we have put the sandels in the closet, it is time to talk about fall. Fall has a warm place in Vegan Sweet Tooth's heart because both Becca and I were born in October!!! So bring on the PUMPKINS & APPLES, HOT COCOA & CIDER, AND HALLOWEEN specials.
PUMPKIN: If you look around the kitchen in October, all you see are amazing pie pumpkins, and all you can smell are the sweet and savory aromas of fresh roasted pumpkins warming your belly and your soul.
APPLES: It is clearly apple season as well. All of the delicious apples are coming to VST. We have been peeling and coring granny smith apples to the point that we dream about them. We are simmering them in Meyer's Rum, and letting them carmelize in organic sugars until they are tender, just in time to add them to our delicious desserts.
Cupcakes and Cakes:
P: Chocolate and Vanilla cakes, filled with cinnamon roasted pumpkin cream cheese mousse.
A: Vanilla cake filled with cinnamon spiced apples, topped with vanilla frosting sprinkled with savory cinnamon.
Muffins: Whole wheat, oil free agave sweetened fresh roasted pumpkin muffins. Some muffins will have chocolate chips, others will have nuts. You choose :)
Need something to drink after reading about all the delicious desserts? We now have warm apple cider, as well as vegan hot cocoa. We are warming a local apple cider from the market at the shop, to keep you moving on those chilly days. We also have made our own hot cocoa mix. IT IS DELICOUS! We are using our organic dutch cocoa, mixed with our organic sugar, warmed with coconut milk, and topped with vegan marshmellows. Come in and try it today!
Halloween: We are going to be offering specialty cupcakes decorated for your halloween parties! While you are getting in your costume, we will get your cupcakes in their costumes. As pictured above we will offer owls, mummies, warewolves, and spiders on your cupcakes for Halloween. BOOOOOO!
Now that I have given you plenty of things to think about, I am going to get back to the baking...
